How to Prepare Aloe Vera Oil
What You’ll Need:
2 cups of coconut oil, olive oil, or almond oil
One fresh aloe vera leaf
Optional: a few drops of rosemary oil
Clean glass jar with lid
Steps to Prepare Aloe Vera Hair Oil:
Step 1: Start by washing the aloe vera leaf thoroughly to get rid of any dirt.
Step 2: Trim the edges of the aloe leaf, then cut it into small cubes. Soak these cubes in water for about 5 minutes to remove the yellowish resin.
Step 3: Blend the aloe vera cubes into a smooth paste.
Step 4: Heat 2 cups of coconut oil (or your chosen oil) in a pan over medium heat. Add the aloe vera paste to the heated oil.
Step 5: Let the mixture cook on low heat for about 5 minutes. You’ll notice the oil changing to a light golden color.
Step 6: Once done, strain the oil into a clean container. Add a few drops of rosemary oil if you like.
Step 7: Store your aloe vera oil in an airtight glass jar and keep it in a cool place. This homemade oil should stay fresh for 1-2 months.
How to Use Aloe Vera Oil for Hair:
Warm a small amount of aloe vera oil in a pan before use.
Apply it to your scalp and massage gently, working the oil into your hair down to the ends.
Leave it on for 30–45 minutes, then wash your hair with a gentle (sulfate-free) shampoo.
You can also leave the oil in overnight and wash it out the next morning.
For best results, use this aloe vera oil twice a week. Expect your hair to feel thicker, longer, and beautifully nourished.
